Puerto Rico Day Parade In NYC 2012

Today I experienced something new in the city, even though I experience something new every day but this particular was very interesting.

Today New York City experienced the Puerto Rico Day Parade. Every second Sunday in June there is a huge parade on 5 th avenue, actually the parade is one of the biggest parades.  With nearly 3 million spectators and more than 80.000 Puerto Ricans are marched with the parade.

The reason they have the parade is to honor the Puerto Ricans in U.S.
They have loud Spanish music and food is served at the side of the streets. Some people go overboard and do some crazy stuff but I guess it is ok to do it on the Puerto Rico day parade, because this day was about fun and enjoyment.

I feel lucky to be a part of a great city like New York City where there is something happen all the time.
It is impossible to be bored in this city!
