This weekend we had lots of sun here in New York so my friends and I decided to take the boat to Governors Island, which is free during the weekends. We were supposed to go there to just have a pick-nick, but when we got there we realized that almost everyone on that island was wearing outfits looking like the characters from the movie the Great Gatsby. What I understood when I walked around was that during this weekend, Governors Island host a jazz festival and the people dress up like it is the 20’s.
It was an amazing experience, I love jazz and I love the 20’s culture. It was a really smart idea to have the festival on the Governors Island because the environment is ageless. I really thought I was in the 20’s.
I liked how people took this serious and how some people really could dance to the 20’s music.
