I’m a big fan of meat (pause) but I wish I was a vegetarian. People that do not eat meat I admire them. I really wish that I could go vegetarian but the taste of a steak or chicken wings is too delicious to not eat.
I have a vegetarian friend and she told me that there is some stuff that replaces the meat but are not made from animals. She mentioned a few things that can make it easier to become vegetarian.
Things that you could eat instead of meat:
Fistulina hepatica- is a mushroom that looks like raw meat and when it is cooked it tastes like meat. I did not know that this did exist and I laughed when she talked about it. I feel pretty stupid now when I did research about it. Apparently this was a good substitute for meat in France for poor people.
Quorn- is a mix of some mushrooms and a little bit of the white part of the egg. This product was made in Britain and contains a lot of protein and fiber and has low fat. I have never taste this before but if this tastes like meat, I might be vegetarian in a few years.
The only reason I want to stop eat meat is because of the cruel slaughter houses and not only that. I think it is healthier for our bodies to create our own protein rather than eat finished protein that you can find in meat.
So let’s see how this workout and I will let you guys know in a few weeks what I think about these substitutes.
