Ever gone to the gym and in the middle of the workout you start to feel something is wrong with your stomach, and your performance is getting worse? It happens to all of us, but with the right food, it is almost impossible to feel bad during a workout. I am going to share with you food that I eat before a workout and how it keeps me going hard at the gym.
I am going to list four things that you should eat before a workout and these products can be found in every supermarket.
1. Quark-
This is something new I have start with. Quark might be unfamiliar with many but Quark looks and taste similar to Yogurt but has so much less fat and calories but it has high protein which you need for a workout.

2. Cottage cheese
- Many believes that cheese is something heavy and should now be consumed before a workout, and that's true, but Cottage cheese is different from regular yellow cheese. Cottage cheese contains whey more casein protein and less fat than the regular yellow cheese. That’s why you might see a lot of athletes and bodybuilders walk around with a jar of Cottage cheese.
3. Chocolate milk
- This might sound strange but actually a guy from one of my classes at Berkeley presented this to us and he said that the chocolate has sugar which gives you a kick and the milk has the important vitamins that you need during a workout. So together they become a delicious combo.

4. Dates
- This is actually a Persian secret. The Persian people are famous for being the best lifters and wrestlers in the world and one thing that kids are feed with from young age is dates. They have a lot of healthy carbs and taste delicious especially with milk. No wonder why we are so strong!
