Berkeley vs Vassar

Last scrimmage for 2012 and we are heading to the start of the season, but the game against Vassar College was not an easy game. In the early minutes we looked like an unorganized team but I do not blame anyone because this is what scrimmages are made for. Vassar was smart and took an early lead when we were doing mistakes but after a few timeout and substitutes we got back on our feet’s again.

In half time we walked out with 2 points down and our heads down. In the locker room coaches told us that we have been beating this team two times before and they are hungry for a win on their own home court, this game was so important to them because this was a way for them to show that they are better than us and when we as a team realized that the scrimmage is not just a “scrimmage” we promised the coaches to come back next half and CRUSH Vassar and that’s what we did.

 In the second half we looked more organized and we did what we were supposed to do and Vassar had their sharp 3-pt shooters but we had our killing squad with the best shooters, fastest attackers and strongest big mans in our league so Vassar did not have so much to come with in the end.
 Things we have to think about as a team is to take the early lead in the beginning rather of waiting for the end and also we have to build up a little better chemistry with the new players. But things will fall  together during the season.
