Today many professors at Berkeley requires student to fill out a survey where they can either complain about the class or give credit to it.
Many of the professors do this so they can see what the students think about the class so they can make it more understandable in class.
I like this concept because this is the only way for us students to say what we really think about the class. Since it is anonymous survey, the professor will not know who wrote it, which is good, because students then will write what they really want to get out of the class.
Many students believe that the professors don’t care about the surveys, but that is not true. Almost every professor I have had at Berkeley did pay attention to their student’s thoughts.
Just when you fill out this survey, be honest and professional. Just imagine if the professor would grade you in the same way. Don’t write stuff that is personal for an ex, “I don’t like his sweater”. No one actually pay attention to that and it will make the professor to not take the survey serious.
