Today I was excited because I have been waiting for this day for a long time. Today was the Persian parade in New York. Last year I missed it because I did not know they would celebrate Persians in New York. But today I was ready and the weather was perfect.
The parade started off at 38 st & Madison to 23 st and the parade continued to a party in Madison Sqaure Park. It was amazing and very touching for me. I was surprised mostly because of the way Americans were treating Persians during this day. Everyone was enjoying it and they were showing respect for other people’s culture.
At this event, they sold Persian food and treats. I was really enjoying it and I am happy I had this opportunity to celebrate with Persians, since I missed to celebrate our New Year’s Eve with my family in Sweden.
