New York City is the Mecca of Basketball, everywhere you go in New York you will see basketball courts full with people. As long as the court is dry you will always see people play street ball and it doesn’t matter how cold or hot it is people will still be there playing until it gets dark.
Today me and one of my teammates went to a great park down on Houston st to catch some pick-up games. The competition there is pretty good some days while some days you will have people that don’t take it serious. The courts down there are pretty good and the backboard is not stiff like some other places.
The people playing there are friendly but be ready for a lot of trash talk and a lot of hits on the court, but that is a part of the game, I believe that it makes you stronger as a basketball player but the only issue I been having playing street ball is that the fact of getting injured during a pick-up game which can be very stupid.
This place is one of the few places I go to and if you want to play with some great players just swing by on the weekends after 1 pm.
