                   The               expendable               income               of               the               '90s               meant               that               many               people               could               buy               many               things               that               served               no               real               functional               purpose.

    This               is               where               the               backwards               baseball               cap               comes               into               play.

    The               whole               point               of               the               baseball               cap               is               to               keep               the               sun               out               of               your               eyes               and               off               of               your               face,               but               during               the               '90s               we               got               it               all               twisted               and               wore               ball               caps               backwards,               rendering               their               utility               useless               and               relegating               them               to               pure               '90s               fashion               accessory.
                   Butterfly               Clips
                   Butterfly               clips               were               the               '90s               equivalent               of               the               modern               day               Bumpit.

    Girls               wore               them.

    Adult               women               wore               them.

    There               was               seemingly               a               constant               need               to               clip               your               hair               in               the               '90s.

    I               guess               the               wind               blew               differently               back               then               before               all               of               that               climate               change               kicked               in.
                   Scrunchies
                   There               is               nothing               that               '90s               women               loved               more               than               scrunchies,               making               them               one               of               the               '90s               most               iconic               fashion               accessories.

    The               headband               had               become               passé               and               women               sought               another               way               to               keep               their               hair               out               of               their               faces.

    They               found               the               solution               in               a               piece               of               elastic               wrapped               in               cloth.

    They               were               seen               in               schoolyards               and               on               "Friends,"               and               now               that               I               think               about               it,               they               don't               seem               very               hygienic               which               is               kind               of               ironic               considering               they               look               like               loofahs.
