Berkeley VS Johnson & Wales University

Tonight Berkeley played their first official game of the season against Johnson & Wales University out in Charlotte North Carolina. Johnson & Wales have a history of staying unbeaten on their home turf. They had an amazingly loud crowd that was cheering for them. The level of the noise in the gym was extreme, every second felt like an hour.

The game was always close until the Wildcats took an eleven point lead and the game seemed as if it was over. But Coach John and Chris took a timeout to set up the system.
Coming out second half changed the whole game. The Knights came out with power and pride fighting back the supporters on the court.
Last few minutes of the game came to be the most important; the Knights were playing tight and changing baskets. The referees had been giving terrible calls towards the knights but that did not stop the knights from winning the game with one point. The crowd went crazy, they could not believe that they just lost their first game on their turf.

Next time the Wildcats might face Berkeley would be in nationals in February.

Working out at the David Barton Gym (Review)

Staying fit in New York is a norm, but the motto “Look better naked” by David Barton Gym makes you just want to work out even harder. That’s why today I decided to go down to “NYC’s finest gym” to try it out and see if it is “all that”.
The gym I visited was the David Barton Gym on Astor Place because I have been walking by it a few times thinking that this place look like a nightclub. The main entrance gives you a feeling of a high end New York City lounge. When walking around in the club, I mean the gym I realized that it is pretty dark to be a gym. It was very relaxed; you could barely see anyone sweat. To me it looked more like a fashion spot, somewhere people with fancy clothes come to “chill”.

The environment of the gym was very chic and clean. They had everything a gym should have, maybe a little more. The staff talks to guest’s, asking questions about their goals and their purpose of visiting the gym which to me is great if you come to the gym to develop but some people just like to come there and walk on the treadmill and then leave.  One thing I saw at this gym that I have never even seen at any other gym was the big disco ball. In this disco ball there is a DJ, this DJ plays lounge music for the guests. This was something I thought was pretty cool but unnecessary because many like me have their own music on. But if you are there to talk to others in between your sets then the music would to a great job.
The monthly charge is $97 (Students) $145 (non student).

Being a Rat for Leaving the Celtic's?

Remember when Ray Allen left the Celtics to join the Miami Heat’s empire? Well when this happen some of his teammates got pissed off, claiming that he was a rat, that he was not loyal to the team because of his decision. Today those players that disliked Ray Allen’s move are playing for the Brooklyn Nets. They did the same thing. Choosing what’s best for them, their family and their career. You do that move in high school or college I would say that it would be disrespect to your team but these people are businessmen. Their business is their service and wouldn’t you take your service to the place that you had the best offer or benefiting you most? I do understand that those teams that have best chemistry and loyalty are those teams that will win a championship. But if a player is not comfortable with being in a team then it is better off for him to leave.
