RPI vs Berkeley

This was it, the first home game for the Knights. The supporters were wild and so were the Knights today.
The Knights hosted RPI, a good team that beat Berkeley last year with 10 points at their home court, but today it was different.

Last time Berkeley played RPI they were not ready for their tactics which is very special. RPI substitute five players every three minutes to keep their players fresh and at the same time confuse the opponent. Last year this worked well against the Knights, their tactics gave them open shots and layups. But this season the coaching staff of the Berkeley Knight’s were ready for it and had it figured it out before RPI entered the Knight’s home court.

The Knights were leading most of the game and took off at the end, beating RPI with 122-95.

Aftermath ( Off-Season)

Last weekend must have been my toughest weekend ever, after an unfair loss in the championship I did not know how to motivate and to keep pushing myself. Imagine workingout twice everyday, workingout when others were sleeping, workingout while others were out having fun and in the end losing in a semifinal against a team that we could had beat in any given day.
I took Saturday and Sunday off to really think about what went wrong , many said to me to forget about it and think about next year, well that is true but how can I forget what happen and just focus on next season. If I don’t realize what was wrong and if I don’t remember myself how that feeling of losing was then I would never be able to push myself.
Monday morning I was back at it again, practice, school then practice again. Most people say that you should take two weeks off then start workingout again, I don’t believe in that. I believe resting is precious that you have to earn it and no matter how much I try to describe that we deserved that win we still lost and as I can see it we did not deserve any rest. I can only speak from my point of view, that’s the way I am made.
One promise I am making for next season is that I will do whatever I can to win the Championship and I have faith in my fellow brothers on the team that they will do the same.

Game vs King College

Today we played Kings College, a very easy game but still important to our advancing to the USCAA Championship.

First half we started with a great defense and a wonderful offence; we were moving the ball, taking the right shots and sometimes even sacrificing our own shot so somebody else on the team could get a better shot. Really great team work on the court, something that we have to apply to every game we play.
Second half same thing here, great defense and great offence. I admire Kings College, because they were disciplined, had respect and really tried their best and I give them a lot of credit for that.

Coaches decided to play everyone today which I believe is great because these freshman’s have to get some experience on the court but there are some few things that have to be worked on but hey, they got at least another 3 years left.
Tomorrow we play our last “home” game, the game will be at Hostos at 11.45 against Albany

FINAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today we played the semi final against Vermon Tech. A team with a lot of good players and their strongest side were 3 pointers.
Our plan was to overplay their best 3 point shooter since he makes almost every shot he takes and that was our key to success.
The game was tight throughout the whole time and  the crowd on both side seemed nervous.
We had a 10 point lead in the end  and  Vermon Tech's  best 3 point shooter  had missed all of his shots and he was cold but when we really thought that the game was over we were wrong. Number 30, Vermon Tech's best shooter started to make some crazy shots. When I say crazy I mean, he took shoots from almost half court.
They started to foul us with 30 sec left, we were missing from the foul line and they were coming back with their 3 pointers.

We were so nervous that the same mistakes we did last year against Andrews ( Champion from last year and also who we play tomorrow) would occur again. Fortunately we learned from our mistakes and won the game as champions.

Tomorrow we are going to do history, we are going to the USCAA FINAL game with the odds against us and we are going to win.

We are playing Andrews, so do not miss out.

Arriving at last !

What a long trip!

Today we started our journey towards the CHAMPIONSHIP and the bus trip to Pittsburgh was not easy. It took us almost 8 hours but we finally made it.

When we started to move up to the mountains, it started to pour snow and it felt like we was in Sweden hahah that's how cold it was. I can say that I am happy that I brought my winter jacket.

We live right now on a resort and there is a lot of animals around us. It feels like a little zoo and it is amazing. I will put up pictures of the place tomorrow since it is dark outside right now.

This pictures are from the road trip today.                                                        Somewhere in Pennsylvania

Hector just won a nice price !
